Walter Michael Kelly

Walter Michael Kelly, age 76. (Walt). Passed away January 9, 2023.

Walt was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Walter J. and Suzanne (nee Ondov) Kelly and was also predeceased by his late cousins and caregivers James P. and Irene M. Twohig. He is survived by Diane Black, who was also a caregiver, as well as Peggy (Harry Wise) Twohig and Nancy (F. Wallace, deceased) Douthwaite. Walt was also a cousin to Claire Black, Erin Black, Laurel Douthwaite and Christine (Chris) Coelho, among others. He was a friend to many, especially his best friend, Roger Gutschmidt. He enjoyed friends at River Crossing and appreciated support from North Olmsted Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Skip Hennessey and Linda Nichols.

Walt lived most of his life in Fairview Park, Ohio. He attended Messiah Lutheran School, Lutheran High School West, St. Paul's College and Cuyahoga Community College. He worked at the Bee Clean Car Wash and Cuyahoga Community College. He loved attending services at Messiah Lutheran and Ascension Lutheran churches. He was known to be a gentle and sweet man who was passionate about his Christian faith. He was respectful, witty and enjoyed a good laugh. His favorite hobbies were reading, sharing insights and enjoying conversation with those he loved. He was known for his excellent memory of historical dates and family events. Walt's kindness will be remembered and he will be missed.

A funeral service will be held at Noon, on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, at the Busch Funeral Home, 21369 Center Ridge Road, Rocky River, OH 44116. Friends are welcome. Interment to follow at West Park Cemetery, Cleveland. Donations may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church, 28081 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070.
