Patricia "Pat" Surdy

Patricia "Pat" Surdy (Mohan), age 83, entered eternal life, on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022.

Pat was born on August 13, 1939 to her predeceased parents, James and Anne Mohan (Krukowski), in Cleveland, Ohio. She was raised in a strong family-centered home with her younger, predeceased brother, Thomas.

Pat met her husband, Michael, to whom she was married to for 55 exceptional years. Pat and Mike then went onto build a close-knit, loving family and life of their own, where she found herself a cherished mother to Micki Kennedy (Rich), a loving gramma of Laurna Leigh (Matthew Caporossi) and Rick Kennedy (Katie Kohl), as well as a dearest nana of Kennedy Rose.

Before becoming snowbirds to Florida, Pat served as a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Cleveland, where she was a dedicated employee as a school cafeteria manager for 15 years. Pat could always be found cooking/baking, gardening and/or enjoying the summer's warmth outside, surrounded by family and friends, in her and Mike's backyard pool. This was with, or without, a piece of chocolate or two by her side at all points in time. After permanently moving to Florida's Friendliest Hometown (The Villages), Pat and Mike found their youth again, enjoying golfing with friends, nights out on the town and finding new hobbies. Pat also, at this time, became an active member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake, where she served as a eucharistic minister.

Pat was good at many things; she was very skilled at sewing, could always be found with a sudoku/word puzzle in hand and enjoyed meticulously decorating her home for every season. She especially devoted numerous hours to carefully arranging her Dept. 56 Christmas Villages each year, a tradition which will be survived by her family in her memory for years to come.

Pat is best remembered by her family to have lived a full, and happy, life as a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a treasured friend to many.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, at 9:30am at Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH 44129.
