Patricia A. Gunter "Pat" (nee Brannon), 76, of Lorain, formerly Elyria; entered her Heavenly home after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family and friends on January 19, 2023. Pat was born November 16, 1946, in Ronceverte, WV to Odie and Mary (nee Williamson) Brannon.
Pat graduated from Elyria High School in 1964. She worked as a Dietary Aide for the Lorain City Schools and as the church secretary for the Sheffield Church of God, formerly known as the Lorain Church of God.
While attending the Sheffield Church of God, Pat served as a Sunday School teacher, led a Bible Study group and taught Family Training Hour. She was president and secretary of the Ladies Ministry as well as the church's clerk.
Most importantly, she loved being a homemaker to her family.
Pat enjoyed reading, music, ceramics; but most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She lived her life to share Christ with others, and to all who knew her, she had a heart of gold.
Leaving behind to cherish memories are children Brian (Kellie) Gunter of Lagrange, Brent (Sandy) Gunter of Elyria and LeAnn Ocasio of Avon; grandchildren Nic (Janina), Casey (Michael), Tyler, Tanner, Courtney and Aaliyah; great grandchildren Grayson and Cameron; and brother Dale (Anjee) Brannon of Elyria.
Preceded in death by loving husband Denton Gunter, brothers Ernest and Daniel Brannon and parents Odie and Mary Brannon.
Memorial contributions may be forwarded in Pat's name to the Sheffield Church of God, 2280 N. Abbe Rd., Sheffield Village, OH 44054 - C/O Ladies Ministry.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 2-6pm, with funeral service to immediately follow at the Sheffield Church of God, 2280 N. Abbe Rd., Sheffield Village. Pastor Nathan Harvey to officiate.
The family requests guests to wear purple, to honor Pat's favorite color.
Private burial to be held at Ridge Hill Cemetery.
