Othman "Ozzie" M. Shaaban, 82 of Avon Lake, OH and formerly of Tripoli, Lebanon, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. He was born to parents Mustafa and Yemen (nèe Adra) on April 4, 1940, in Tripoli, Lebanon.
Ozzie was a graduate of "The real O.U.", Oklahoma University (not to be confused by Ohio State University! LOL!), where he received his master's in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. He was employed, until retirement, as an Aerospace Engineer for ICAO, the International Civil Aviation Organization, head quartered in Montreal, Canada. He was loving, brilliant, ambitious, and meticulous with funny (terrible, really) "Dad" jokes. Ozzie was a world traveler who enjoyed college football (Go Sooners!), backgammon, and volunteering at NASA and the Cleveland Clinic. He was a special dad and grandfather, and his heart was fullest when he was with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Nada (nèe Yakan); loving children Maya Chaaban (Kenneth Burns) and Mona Chaaban; cherished Jiddo of Maddie and Alec; dear siblings Dodi Halabi (Marwan), Murshida Al-Azm (Usama).
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ziad (Siham), Fadel (Judy) and Faysal (Maha).
