MARGRIT INGEBORG STUMM, 96 passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Kemper House in Strongsville with Jennie by her side on June 20th. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert. Survived by son Robert with wife Maria, son Richard with wife Jennie, and their children Jacob, Krista, Ellie with husband Dave Sprockett, and Annalise. Born on the 24th of December 1925 in Dortmund, Germany to Kurt and Katie Lange was one of four daughters; her sisters Lore, Katie, and Christel. The family moved to Hamburg where Margrit went to the "Schule Forsmannstrasse". The family moved on to Kiel at the beginning of World War II. Margrit served in the German"Kinderlandverschickung" in Austria during the war, and later with the Red Cross in Kiel. After the war, Margrit worked as a secretary at the German Post Office. With accordian in hand, Margrit immigrated to Toronto, Canada where she obtained a secretarial position with the Ontario Hydro-Electric Power Commission, and where she met her future husband, Robert. Margrit and Robert moved to Cleveland in 1953 where Robert got a job as a toolmaker at Ford. They later settled in Parma where they raised their family. During that time, Margrit worked as an executive secretary at several companies including Ford, and the accounting firm Ernst and Ernst. In the 1970's Margrit became an announcer for the then Cleveland radio station WXEN featuring her popular German language program. After husband Robert passed on in 1996, Margrit moved to Cuyahoga Falls to be near Richard's family. Margrit enjoyed gardening-especially her roses, and wintering in Florida's sunshine and water, late into her years. Graveside Service at Woodvale Cemetery, 7535 Engle Rd., Middleburg Heights, OH 44130 on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM. PLEASE GATHER AT THE ENGLE ROAD ENTRANCE BY 10:45 AM. Reception immediately following at Busch Funeral Home's Community Room, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma.
