Margaret T Mason

Margaret Mason, 92,

of Amherst, Ohio, Class of 1947 Amherst High school where she was the Class Secretary and played basketball, always lit up a room with smiles from her witty sense of humor. She touched the hearts of all whom she encountered and left a lasting impression or side stitch from all the laughter.

Margaret was born May 10, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois to Scottish parents James Aloysius & Agnes Henry. Her father was The Master Stone Cutter on The Infamous Guardian Bridge in Cleveland.

Growing up in Amherst, she could be found getting into mischief with her baby brother, Jimmy and truly enjoyed hanging with her cousins or befriending any animal that came her way.

Margaret's sweet tooth was no secret! She would never pass up an opportunity for cookies, candy or sundaes/milkshakes, especially anything chocolate!

An Elyria GM Local 780 Treasurer Retiree and social butterfly that enjoyed the occasional adult beverage at Saint Lad's fish fries or bus trip to the casino for laughs and conversation with friends.

A true pillar of strength to her family. She was a loving matriarch to her 3 children, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Master at crossword puzzles and spelling. If you challenged her to scrabble you must prepare yourself for a swift defeat.

In her free time, she enjoyed watching The Cleveland Indians (She loved Jim Thome) and The Cleveland Browns (A Terry Bradshaw fan at heart). She enjoyed the history channel, gardening, bowling, ceramics and visiting her grandchildren in Florida as much as she could.

On January 2nd, 2022, she joined her family in heaven. Preceded in death by her parents James Aloysius Henry, Agnes Smith Henry, her brother James Patrick Henry, son Edward Henry Mason.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Peggy Mason, of Elyria and MaryAnn (Mason) Wood of North Ridgeville; granddaughter Tina (Mason) Borman (Leonard); great-granddaughters McKenzie & Maggie Borman of Palm Harbor, Florida; grandson Michael Wood (Corena); great-grandsons Hudson & Nate Wood of North Ridgeville; granddaughter Jennifer Wood; and great-granddaughter MiaAnn Wood.
