Julia Mae Jones-Goodrum, age 86 of Cleveland, OH, passed away on July 25, 2022. Julia was born in Mobile, Alabama to Jim Thomas (deceased) and Gertrude (nee Williams) Thomas (deceased) on March 28, 1936. She was married to the late Samuel Jones and the late Charles Goodrum here in Cleveland. She was a full-time homemaker and part-time seamstress. She was also involved in church, Greater Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, as a member of their senior choir.
Julia is preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Cunningham, Lillie Thomas, Sarah Murphy, Margaret Fortuna, Emma Missouri, and Daisy Cobb; brother, Melvin Thomas; daughters, Betty Shorts, Alberta Adams and son, Gregory Williams.
Julia is survived by daughters, Amanda Lisa Thomas (Mark) and Sonya L. Jones and sons, Samuel T. Jones and Robert V. Jones (Michelle); daughters, Barbara McClanahan, Annette Peterson, Joyce Cummings, Brenda Jones, and Linda Jones and sons, Robert L. Jones, Dwayne Jones, sisters; Ethel Burrell, Louvern Charley (Andrew), and Phyllis Fairchild, and brothers; Calvin Thomas and Johnny Thomas. She was a loving grandmother to Mikah, Emilio, Landon, Khalel, Alvin Jr., Cedric, Valerie, Nicole, Brandy, Trina, Cecil Jr., Tracey, Kevin, Cecily, Michelle, Mitzi, Holly, Gregory Jr., Lisa, Lavelle, Bali, Charles Jr., Christopher, and Carla. She was also a cherished friend to many at her church.

Funeral services at 12 pm on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the BABITT-BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 9350 Ridge Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133 with her son-in-law, Mark Thomas, officiating. Family will receive guests beginning at 11am until time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.
