John Thomas Polačok, age 86, died peacefully at the Cleveland Clinic on May 20, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in Homestead, PA, John graduated from Munhall High School and then served his country as a PFC in the US Army from 1954-1956. He attended California State University of Pennsylvania graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History. A Safety Engineer and Loss Prevention Specialist for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 29 years, John handled many large accounts from Sherwin Williams to Stouffers. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 211 for more than 30 years.
John is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years Joanne Gail (nee Bretsnyder); parents John and Anna Polačok; and sisters Mary Petrisko, Helen Palmer, and Ann Kusek.
He is survived and will be missed terribly by his children Rev. John M. Polačok (Tammy Aitken) of Hanover, Ontario, Laura Musat (Carl) of Avon Lake, OH, and Alicia Polačok (Shaun Kelly) of Portland, OR; granddaughters Alyson Musat (Anthony Covelli) and Carah Musat; sister-in-law Virginia Sheppard; many nieces and nephews; and so many other relatives and friends.
