Captain Ian D. Walker, 80 of Avon Lake, OH passed away Friday, October 8, 2021. He was born March 6, 1941 to Charlotte Jean Fazackerley in Ince, England.
Ian was employed for 42 years with British Petroleum (BP) including 23 of those years at sea, followed by 16 years with Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC). He was recognized for his exemplary service during the responses to Exxon Valdez, Huntington Beach, 9/11 and Deep Water Horizon. Ian was a dedicated golfer, a tech buff, a music enthusiast and a fan of all sports.
He is survived by his beloved wife Wendy (Almquist) Walker; daughter Fiona (Chris) Skryzmoski; sons Roger (Andrea Persanyi) Walker and David (Heather) Walker; grandchildren, Amanda (Jordan) Miller, Alexander Walker, Elizabeth (Dylan Neebes) Skryzmoski, Anna Walker, Ava Walker, Ian Walker, Elliot Walker, and Ethan Walker.
He is preceded in death by Ruth (Blake) Walker and his mother Charlotte Jean Fazackerley.
