Geraldine M. Tama passed away peacefully after a very short illness. She will be so very missed by her loving family: her children Peter Jr. (Sandra) and Marta Snitzky (Thomas); her grandchildren, Nathaniel (Cheryl), Rebecca (Greg), Rachel (Brian), Adam (Alexa), Stephen (Emily), Dana (Ben); and great grandchildren, Nicole, Collin, Kyle, Greyson, Graham, Carson and Harper. Geri was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter, Sr., her parents, Russell and Martha Kester, and her dear aunts and uncles Josephine Mock (Jack) and Jule Lutkiewicz (Joe) who were like parents to her.
On December 6, 1924, Geri was born in Luzerne, PA. She attended St. Annes's Academy and received her bachelor's degree from Marywood College in Scranton, PA. She was a passionate teacher who taught at both St. Christopher school and Magnificat High School in Rocky River and was thought so highly of by her students.
An optimist by nature, Geri was a lover of life and people, and was admired by many. She was an avid bridge player for many years, loved reading a good book and was a bit proud of her swimming and diving skills. She was fondly teased about her love of sweets, in particular Malley's chocolates.
Geri was a woman of faith who always treated others as she herself would hope to be treated. And her greatest joy in life was simply caring for, in many ways, all those family and friends she loved.
A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 6, at 11:00 AM, at St. Christopher Church, 20141 Detroit Rd., Rocky River, OH 44116. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Gathering Room at the church. Private burial at a later date, cremation by Busch.www.bushcares.com 440-937-6175
