George Anthony Tomaselli

George passed away quietly and peacefully on March 31st, 2022, in the warmth of his home and surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband to Cheryl, caring father to Jeff and Nick, and loving brother to Rosemary. He also leaves behind his loving dogs Rocky and Dexter.

George met his loving wife Cheryl at the early age of 20, and have celebrate over 45 years of marriage. Together, they ran a successful excavating and trucking business, proudly dedicated to perfection and completing high quality work for customers. George took great pride in completing work the way he would do it for himself even if it cost more time and effort.

During his life, George was an avid enjoyer of music and could often be heard listening to his favorite bands, including Steely Dan, Genesis, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Tool. He also took every opportunity to play the drums, a hobby he enjoyed from a young age; even when not playing, he could be seen blissfully tapping to any beat he was enjoying at the time. He shared this hobby with his children, with them sharing new musical discoveries and him imparting an appreciation for the classics of his youth. Their shared taste in music afforded them the opportunity to attend concerts together, creating unforgettable shared experiences.

Cars were often an integral part of his life; he owned and loved driving a number of sports cars during his life, from historical classics to modern sports cars. He took pride in owning and restoring all types of cars, and one of his life goals was to fully customize and modernize a classic pickup. He spent the last years of his life achieving this goal, fully restoring his 1956 Dodge pickup with his own personal style. Even in his down time, he could be found watching car restorations, auctions, and reading about modern and classic cars.

Some of his fondest memories were vacations with his family. He would spend weeks with his wife and kids in the family motorhome driving across the entire country to visit landmarks, parks, and scenic views while stopping to see friends along the way. When the destination was unreachable by land, he would often take the family on Cruises to destinations such as Hawaii, the Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico. Even later in life, he was able to create memories with friends and family with trips to Aruba and Bermuda. This was his way of creating unforgettable memories for his family and friends that will last their lifetimes.

Above all his accomplishments, perhaps his greatest achievement was being a loving father, devoted husband, and great friend. He was willing to do anything to help those that needed his help, and always put others above himself. While the world has lost a truly good man, his memories and accomplishments will live on through everyone whose lives he touched. We encourage everyone to reflect on the impact he had on them personally, and to feel free to share those memories.
