Eileen E. Mahoney (nee Terry), 78, lifelong resident of Elyria; passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, September 19, 2022. Eileen was born to parents Englon Terry and Lillie (nee Duvall) Cook on July 5, 1944, in Elyria.
Eileen graduated from Elyria High School, class of 1962. She furthered her education at Lorain County Community College earning a degree to work as an LPN. She studied at Tri-C, earning a master's degree for Physical Therapy Assistant.
Eileen was a God fearing woman and faithful member of Jones Chapel AME Church in Elyria . At church, she was a member of the Inspirational Choir and the Stewardess Board. She loved to garden and care for plants, play bingo, knit, crochet, and create handiworks and crafts. Piano playing was one of many talents Eileen was blessed to have.
Family left behind to cherish Eileen's memory are her children Dr. Lori Jackson of Detroit, MI, Johnny Jackson, Jr., of Atlanta, GA, Michael Jackson of Atlanta, GA, and Trina Mahoney of Charlotte, NC; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and siblings Daud Abdur-Rasheed of Cleveland, Patrick E. Terry of Alaska, Linda S. Ewing of Elyria, and Betty J. Bohannon of Riverdale, Ga.
Preceded in death by husbands Johnny Jackson, Sr., Robert Collison and Robert J. Mahoney, III, daughter Lisa Jackson-Johnson, siblings Gertrude Morrissy, Henry Terry, William Terry, Richard A. Terry and Phyllis Grant.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 5pm-7pm at the Jones Chapel AME Church, 343 17th St. Elyria, with the funeral service to follow at 7pm. The Reverend Dr. Louise Jackson will be officiating. Family wishes to thank Busch Funeral Services.
