Dawn L. Bernardine

Dawn L. Bernardine, 78, born Oct 25, 1943, passed away on March 16, 2022 after battling cancer.

Dawn was a card carrying member of the original Micky Mouse club. She relished her time as Brownie and then as a Girl Scout with the same troop all the way through graduation at North Olmsted High School. She remained friends with many in her troop until she passed.

Dawn worked as an accountant in downtown Cleveland for over 45 years. She took great pride in her job and her relationships with her clients, serving those accounts personally.

Dawn was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan since the early 60s, but she loved the game of football itself even more. Her favorite player was Hanford Dixon.

Dawn and her family spent their summers at their cottage on Kelley's Island, where they enjoyed fishing, boating, cookouts and hosting family and friends.

Dawn was an avid mystery reader who also loved cooking, gardening and the Beatles. She prepared her favorite meal, breakfast, for anyone lucky enough to be present at the time. She collected hundreds of recipes over the years.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father George Bernardine, her mother Helen McCormick Bernardine, her brother-in-law, Mark Collins, and her beloved dog, Sooner.

Dawn is survived by her sisters, Jill Collins and Sally Carle, her brother-in-law, Jim Carle, her nephews, Josh Collins and Nick Collins, her great niece, Savannah; and by many cousins and life-long friends.

Dawn's favorite charity was the Cleveland Animal Protective League.

Private family services will be held.
