Christine "Tina" Esson (nee Szafranski), 73 of Parma, OH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband Robert Esson was by her side. She leaves behind daughter Heather Esson (Brandon Russell), son Sean Esson, grandson Porter Russell, and sisters Cindy Hansen, Lauren Silva, and Linda Roman, along with many extended family members and close friends that were like family. Her parents Mitchell (Schaefer) and Helen Szafranski preceded her in death.
Tina was born in Cleveland, OH and raised in the suburb of Parma. She graduated from Valley Forge High School in 1967 and attended Kent State University, where she earned her B.S. in Education. She worked for 30 years as a teacher in both the Parma and Cleveland City School Districts. While still at Kent State, Tina met the love of her life and married her husband Robert "Bob" in 1972. They built an amazing life together over 49 years of marriage. She enjoyed travel, going on cruises, bowling, playing games and cards, going to casinos, dancing the polka, and collecting rocks and seashells. More than anything, Tina loved to spend time in the company of her family and friends who meant everything to her. With a boundless energy, infectious positivity, mischievous sense of humor, and a patient and generous spirit, Tina will be deeply missed by all those lucky enough to have known her. Tina is now dancing the polka with her dad in heaven.
