Cheryl Horvath

Cheryl A. Horvath (nee Wildenheim), 76, lifelong resident of Elyria; passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Cheryl was born September 13, 1946, to Frank and Gloria (nee Richards) Wildenheim in Elyria, OH.

Cheryl attended Midview Schools in Grafton, OH. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Elyria Ward. She served as the Nursery Teacher where she taught little ones about Jesus and worked in the church's library.

Cheryl enjoyed taking walks throughout her neighborhood and travelling on vacations with family.

Cherished wife of 58 years to Carl Horvath; loving mother of Sandra D. (Scott) Benton of Elyria and Leslie A. (Glenn) Mead of Vermilion; mother-in-law of Steve Johns of Elyria; sister of Frank Sheldon of Lakeland, FL, Myrle Sheldon of Elyria and Sandra Skidmore of North Ridgeville; grandmother of 13; and great grandmother of 10.

Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Teresa Johns and grandson Brandon Benton.

Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2023, from 11am-12pm with the funeral service to follow at 12pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12090 Durkee Rd., Grafton. Interment at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Bishop Carl Lapray to officiate.
