Charles Tower

Charles Robert Tower, 94, of Elyria; cherished father of Mary Adolph; grandfather of Robert Adolph and Julie (Matthew) Smith; great grandfather of Mark (Elizabeth) Smith and Courtney Young; great-great grandfather of Harleigh, Jocelyn, Hazel, Elena and Isaac Smith and Abel Young; and brother of Lorainne Hower, Mary Gregory, and Beatrice Funk.

Charles passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. He was born November 16, 1927, in Reedsville, PA to Paul and Margaret (nee Specht) Tower.

Charles served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church and the Eagle and Moose Lodge.

Charles liked everything to do with sports, although football was his favorite. He enjoyed teasing and (lovingly) feuding with his granddaughter about the Cleveland Browns.

Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Virginia (nee Harbst), son Charles Jr., parents, and siblings Mabel Bozman, Jean Abbey, Betty Conner and Paul Tower Jr.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 6pm-8pm and Wednesday, September 14th from 10am-11am, funeral service will follow at BUSCH FUNERAL HOME 114 Second St. Elyria. Burial will be held at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Pastor Kevin Coleman will officiant the services.
