Betty A. Bridgman, 65, of Elyria; cherished mother of Ashley (Chad) Boraca; loving grandmother of Nathan Boraca and the late Abigail Boraca; and sister of Debbie (Randy) Chapman, Shirley Carlson of Manhattan, KS., and John (Donetta) Bridgman. Betty passed away Friday, November 4, 2022.
Betty was born June 4, 1957, in Watervliet, MI to parents John and Barbara (nee Mahoney) Bridgman. She married her sweetheart, the late Raymond "Ray" H. Schaub Jr, in 1991.
Together Ray and Betty ran R&B Farm, a multi-purpose hobby farm that included raising farm animals, growing produce and creating specialized crafts. While Ray made the crafts, Betty used her special touch to paint and bring them to life. The farm repurposed and salvaged (before it was cool).
Betty loved the beach and everything to do with nature. She enjoyed spending the day on the beach collecting driftwood and rocks she used in her art. Betty had a love of sunflowers, growing them each year. She shared her talent of music while as a choir director for many years.
Spending time with her grandson, Nathan, brought Betty so much joy. Nathan even had his own bedroom at Grandma's house, often spending nights over, building elaborate marble runs throughout her house.
In memory of Betty's late granddaughter, Abigail, memorial contributions may be forwarded to SMARD Cure at sma.org.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Busch Funeral Homes, Elyria.
